Diego Garcia, Bonabio CEO contributed to the creation of the 8 principles of the RSPO standards with Migros-Switzerland through palm oil supply to the Swiss market, and with the participation in meetings and conferences -RT3 in the RSPO criteria construction-. In 2012 Daabon approved and voted for POIG concepts: an ambitious commitment to the responsibility of palm oil imports.

1. The human beings are our priority

Strict respect for human rights. Promoting jobs, protecting people.

Right to clean water and healthy food for workers and their territory.

Improving living conditions of workers on four objectives: empowerment of women, house building, health and lifestyle, education of adults and children.

Fight against discriminations, child labor; for ILO labor standards, for association right.

Fair trade certification alternative have good impact in small growers systems.

2. Responsibility and environmental restoration

No deforestation: our suppliers must commit to not contribute to deforestation, directly or indirectly, in vital areas for biodiversity or important carbon storage areas, as defined in POIG chart.

Conservation and protection of peatlands, including dryness and drainage, to consolidate its rich and complex ecosystem according to the RSPO standards.

Ban GMO farming techniques and products used, according to the organic farming regulation (EU/USDA).

No toxic inputs to farmers and biodiversity, according to organic regulation (EU/USDA).

Accounting of greenhouse gas according to POIG principles with stock and recycling of methane produced in the extraction plants pools.

Study and rigorous accounting of extinction species in the palm plantations of our suppliers (POIG).

3. Commitments and CSR

Bonabio audits all producers, to help build concrete CRS improvements and inform the international palm players as an example.

Bonabio undertakes to publicly denounce concealment, manipulation or deviation of the human and environmental criteria listed above.

Bonabio aims at lessening to his customers requirements. The goal is to communicate with the entire supply and consumption chain.

Work directly with transparency and fight against corruption and tax evasion.

=RSPO Ordinary Members are required to submit an annual compulsory report known as the Annual Communications on Progress (ACOP). Part of this report includes the Time Bound Plan (TBP) where they will provide targeted dates and timelines for when they will start producing or sourcing for Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) as well as when they target to have their production or supply chain to be 100% RSPO-certified.
